Errors in Game Recording

If you make an error while recording a game, you can switch to the game events tab and swiping right to edit the current event in error or left swipe to delete the event. After many hours of testing and recording dozens of games, the best tip is to avoid tapping buttons franticly. If recording a game with many changes of possessions, we find it better to let a game play settle before selecting pass bad or possession lost. This keeps your game cleaner, helps with statistics. Tap loose possession is best used when your player is tackled. Taping pass bad is best when your player looses possession as a result of a pass that did not connect.

Getting Started Quickly

When you open the app, start by completing the game details and pressing the game recorder button to be ready for kick off. As soon as kick-off, tap the start game button to begin recording and tap gain or loose possession to start things off.

Getting My Previous Games From A Previous Device

If you login to Soccer Copilot on a new device, any games stored in the cloud will be automatically downloaded and synced to your device automatically. This will happen when you go to the game history page.

Getting Help Recording A Game

As a coach, it is difficult to coach a game from the sidelines and record a game at the same time. It is advisable to have someone record a game on your behalf, either on your device, or their own and then share the game to you at the end. Soccer Copilot game recorder needs a little practice. It’s a good idea to start by recording a game on TV where you can practice. In our experience, while making and testing the app, it was a little intimidating to try and keep up with action on field and press the buttons. This is why our best tip above is to let a game play out before going eccentric with button taps. You will find if you settle into a rhythm recording a game becomes much easier and for the benefit of the game stats, it will be a little easier to digest.

Learn and Practice the Game Recorder Screen

Become familiar with the game recorder layout. If you can help memorise the layout and placement of the buttons, then recording a game will be easier as you won’t spend valuable time with your eye away from the game looking for the correct button to tap.

Keep your team name descriptive

Especially important if you record more than one teams games. Try using something like B15 Earth United FC to describe the under 15's boys team and then G15 Earth United FC to describe the girls under 15's team. This will help when looking at game histories.

Unexpected App Shutdowns

If for some reason, the app shuts down or you close the app while recording a game, then re-launching the app will detect that there is still a current game being recorded. Soccer Copilot will ask you if you want to resume recording the game.

If you continue to record the game, the Soccer Copilot will pickup from the time at which the app was closed.
